Technology for Admin Tasks

It is extremely important that as a teacher we have our to-do list in order and completed in a timely manner. Lessons, progress reports and parent meetings are just to name a few of the many tasks we need to be on top of. For me, I find it important as a Montessori teacher that my Co-teacher and I are on the same page. With very little collaboration time throughout the day, it can be very hard to know who is doing what and if they have completed their tasks or are still in the process. I know this is true not only for me but for a lot of teachers and their teams, be it co-teachers, administration or different grade level teams.

Monday.com is a great site to use with your team. It is simple to use and you can customize your page for your specific needs.  I used my page to manage tasks between my co-teacher and me. I created a board called CH1 Tasks (Children's house 1). Anyone you add to this board can contribute and change tasks. You can add more boards for different projects.

You can set up an upcoming task list or more than one. Here is where you list what needs to be done when it needs to be done if you have completed it or it is still in progress and who is in charge of the task. I have some tasks that I would possibly have during the week. These are all things I want my co-teacher to see that I have worked on or working on. She can also see that I am waiting for her to review the newsletter.

You can change the priority of the tasks from high, medium or low by clicking on the rectangle under priority. You can also add your own label.
It is easy to change the status of the task to done, working on it, waiting for review or stuck. You can also add your own label to this as well.
Lastly, you can change the date this task needs to be finished by. Another cool thing about this website is that you can sync your calendar from your phone.
