Student Tutorial Maker
It is hard to find websites geared to younger students, especially a website where they can make their own videos easily. I find that students benefit from learning from their peers. They also enjoy teaching their friends particularly on subjects that they are interested in. In my classroom, the kindergarteners often choose a subject to do research on and then write down their findings. Wouldn't a website that let students make a video of their findings be an amazing opportunity?
That's where Animaker comes in. Animaker is a fun and easy website that students can use to make tutorial videos. Whether their topic is Australia, birds, pumpkins or why it rains. This website is free but you can pay for more options and features to choose from. Even if the student is not yet writing this is still a fun website to make videos without words. There are plenty of video types to choose from but I choose an explainer video.
There are many options for backgrounds (colors, landscapes, and moving)

There are different characters to choose from and each character can be changed in the settings to be doing different movements. This is a great feature for the students to use to represent the options they want to convey.
Students can choose effects for the text and pictures they add and for the transition between scenes.

There are a lot of fun effects such as sliding, fading, sparkles and even one that looks like a hand pushing or pulling the scene. |
After the student is done with their video they can export it onto the computer or upload it to youtube. This took about 5 minutes but can take 24 hours. You receive an email letting you know when your video is done being exported. Below is my finished product that I uploaded to youtube. This whole process took me 30 minutes and I had so much fun making it.

😊Great job with this practical! Keep up the good work you really know your stuff!
ReplyDeleteWow this is super cool! I can't wait to find out what the kindergartners come up with using this app!
